Welcome to the application process for the Canadian Premier International Education Association (CPIEA). The following terms and conditions (the “Terms”) apply to all participants submitting applications to be considered for an award. By submitting an application, participants agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Applicants must be a recognized international education agency.
2. Applicants must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
3. Previous award winners are eligible to apply but will be considered in the context of past achievements and current competition.
4. Agencies that also operate in-house educational services (e.g., test preparation or training centers) may be eligible only if those services exist to support their core recruitment activities. Judging will focus exclusively on agency-related work.
5. Applications are evaluated based on demonstrated alignment with CPIEA values and standards. Judges assess the depth, consistency, and real-world application of an agency’s practices, rather than the quality of written responses or presentation style.
1. Applications must be submitted through the official CPIEA portal by the specified deadline.
2. Applicants must provide accurate and truthful information within their submissions.
3. Incomplete or late applications may not be considered.
4. Applications must be submitted to the right category or will be moved if it was submitted incorrectly.
5. Award recipients may be invited to participate in CPIEA events, including the Summit and the Private Recognition Dinner. Participation is subject to invitation and alignment with the event’s structure and objectives.
6. Each application is scored out of a total of 25 points, with five criteria evaluated equally:
A minimum score of 16 out of 25 is generally required to be considered for an award. However, judges may exercise discretion in exceptional cases where demonstrated impact, ethical conduct, or innovation outweighs numerical scoring. Final decisions are based on a combination of scoring, category competitiveness, and overall alignment with CPIEA standards. This includes a review of the agency’s public presence (such as website and social media) to assess consistency with submitted information, as well as reference-based insights where applicable. CPIEA reserves the right to exercise discretion to maintain the integrity and positioning of the awards.
Applications are evaluated by an independent panel of judges in accordance with CPIEA standards and guidelines.
Evaluation is based on the substance, consistency, and demonstrated alignment of each agency’s practices, including submitted responses, public presence (such as website and social media), and overall positioning within the industry.
A tie occurs when two or more agencies achieve the same score. In such cases, judges may recommend multiple recognitions or defer final distinction based on overall alignment and impact.
CPIEA reserves the right not to award a category if submissions do not meet the expected standard of excellence.
Awards are granted based on absolute performance, not relative ranking within a category.
Score thresholds are as follows:
• Gold: 22–25
• Silver: 19–21.5
• Bronze: 16–18.5
• Below 16: Not eligible for recognition
A minimum score of 16 out of 25 is generally required to be considered for an award. Judges may exercise discretion in exceptional cases where demonstrated impact, ethical conduct, or innovation outweighs numerical scoring.
Within certain categories, particularly Small Agency, CPIEA recognizes that agencies may operate under different models, including boutique or solo-owned structures and multi-member teams. Evaluations reflect these differences to ensure fair and meaningful comparison.
CPIEA recognitions are determined by quality, not quantity. There is no fixed number of awards per category. Agencies meeting the defined score thresholds may be recognized at the appropriate level.
Tie recognition is applied where agencies achieve identical or closely aligned scores.
The interpretation of ties may vary depending on the number and competitiveness of applications within a category, ensuring fair and proportionate recognition across both high-volume and smaller applicant groups.
Agencies meeting the required score thresholds may be recognized at the same level where appropriate, reflecting the overall standard achieved within the category.
1. The decision of the judges is final and binding in all matters related to the awards.

1. The CPIEA reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time without prior notice.
2. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be governed by the laws of Canada.
3. Applicants grant CPIEA the right to use their name, likeness, and information about their application for promotional purposes without additional consent or compensation.
In addition to the aforementioned terms, by participating in the CPIEA Awards, applicants acknowledge and support the commitment of the CPIEA to uphold the highest standards of ethics and fairness in the judging process. Within categories, CPIEA may recognize distinctions in operational models, including boutique or solo-owned structures, where relevant to evaluation and recognition.
