CPIEA Communication Terms & Conditions

Professional Dialogue, Integrity & Community Standards

The Canadian Premier International Education Association Inc. (CPIEA) brings together selected international education agencies that share a commitment to leadership, integrity, innovation, quality, and giving back to the international education community.

Our private WhatsApp group provides a trusted environment for agencies to exchange experiences, share industry information, discuss developments, and support one another in making informed professional decisions.

These Communication Terms & Conditions establish the standards and responsibilities associated with participation in this group. They are separate from the terms governing CPIEA Awards and Accreditation programmes.

1. Purpose and Professional Dialogue

CPIEA encourages the responsible exchange of information, professional experiences, industry reports, market developments, and differing perspectives.

Open discussion, constructive analysis, and respectful disagreement are essential to a healthy professional community. Participants are encouraged to raise legitimate concerns, ask questions, and share knowledge that may benefit agencies, educational institutions, and the students they serve.

All discussions should be conducted in good faith, with professional respect and in accordance with applicable laws.

2. Independent Opinions and Third-Party Information

Statements, opinions, reports, statistics, documents, and other materials shared by participants represent the contributions of their respective authors or distributors and do not necessarily reflect CPIEA’s official views, findings, or recommendations.

CPIEA does not routinely independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or currency of third-party information shared within the group.

The discussion of information concerning a school, agency, or other organization does not, by itself, constitute CPIEA’s endorsement, opposition, or assessment of that institution.

Participants should recognize that reports and financial information may be based on historical data, assumptions, or interpretations that do not necessarily reflect current circumstances.

3. Participant Responsibility

Each participant is responsible for the content they contribute and for complying with applicable laws, including those concerning defamation, privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property.

Participants are expected to distinguish documented facts from personal opinions, exercise reasonable care when sharing information, and avoid knowingly false, misleading, or malicious statements.

CPIEA supports responsible professional discussion, including critical analysis and differing interpretations, without requiring participants to agree with one another.

4. Professional Trust, Confidentiality and Privacy

CPIEA’s WhatsApp group is intended for private professional communication among authorized participants.

Participants are expected to respect the confidentiality of private discussions and exercise discretion when handling messages, screenshots, personal information, and other materials shared within the group.

Private conversations and screenshots should not be distributed outside the group without appropriate authorization, except where disclosure is required or protected by law, including legitimate reporting of wrongdoing or obtaining legal advice.

Participants acknowledge that electronic communications can be copied, captured, or forwarded, and that CPIEA cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality.

Professional trust is fundamental to the community and should be respected by all participants.

5. Community Standards and Moderation

Participants are expected to demonstrate the values associated with CPIEA recognition, including integrity, leadership, innovation, quality, professionalism, respect, and sound judgment.

CPIEA reserves the right to administer its communication group, review reported concerns, request clarification or correction, remove content where technically possible, and restrict or terminate participation where reasonably warranted.

CPIEA may exercise these rights at its discretion, subject to applicable law, and is not undertaking an obligation to monitor or independently investigate every contribution.

Any decision concerning participation will consider the circumstances and available information fairly.

6. Third-Party Concerns and CPIEA Recognition

Schools, agencies, institutions, and other affected parties may raise concerns about potentially inaccurate, misleading, or harmful information through CPIEA’s official website contact channels.

CPIEA may review such concerns, seek clarification, and take proportionate action where appropriate. The submission of a complaint does not, by itself, establish that the information is inaccurate or unlawful, nor does it require CPIEA to suppress legitimate professional discussion.

Participation in the WhatsApp group is separate from CPIEA’s Awards and Accreditation programmes.

Serious, substantiated professional misconduct that is materially inconsistent with CPIEA’s values may be considered when reviewing an agency’s continued recognition, subject to the applicable programme rules and a fair review process.

Good-faith professional disagreement or lawful disclosure will not, by itself, constitute grounds for withdrawing recognition.

7. Responsibility, Liability and Application

CPIEA provides its private WhatsApp group as a forum for professional information exchange.

The presence of participant-generated content within the group does not, by itself, mean CPIEA has authored, verified, approved, adopted, or endorsed that content.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, CPIEA disclaims responsibility for independently contributed content solely because it appears within a CPIEA-administered communication group.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricts legal rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

These Terms establish CPIEA’s communication standards and expectations. Publication alone does not establish contractual acceptance by existing participants.

CPIEA may update these Terms and communicate material changes through its official channels.

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and applicable federal Canadian law, subject to mandatory legal requirements and jurisdictional rules that may apply elsewhere.
